The Plan has been in existence since 1978 and opens approximately 160,000 cases for Plan members each year. Approximately 11,500 are opened at the National office and the remainder are opened in one of our Plan staff offices.
Four UAW Membership Coordinators are assigned to the Plan. The Membership Coordinators act as liaison between the members and the Plan and are involved in client service complaints, eligibility questions, benefit questions, offices and other matters. The GM liaisons are Steve Grandstaff and Mark Strolle. The Ford liaison is Susan Suarez and Chrysler's is Marlene Holiefield. They can be contacted by calling the National office in Detroit.
Currently, the Plan had 700,000 eligible members.
